Alterations
Q.
Will my dress fit perfectly when I special order it from the size chart?
A.
Quite often the majority of wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses and special occassion dresses will need some alterations. It is rare that the bust, waist, and length will all be perfect until some alterations are made. It is not unusual to fit the bust perfectly and have the waist too loose or too snug and the hem too long.
Q.
How do alterations work and what do I bring to an alterations appointment?
A.
Alterations may require multiple fittings. The first fitting is the most important. Be sure to have all of your under garments, slip if you are using one, and the shoes that you will be wearing on your wedding day. Be sure to voice your opinion as to the dress fits during your first fitting. Your gown will be altered as it is pinned during your fitting. You will also have a final fitting, which may be on the day your pick up our dress. Please allow enough time for the final fitting. During the final fitting, you may notice additional attention is necessary on your gown. Please speak up if you would like additional changes so you get the fit that is just right.
Alterations are paid for at the time of your first fitting and you will need to sign at pick-up for completion and approval.
